Responsibilities: Eugene Lang College the New School for Liberal Arts, (https://www.newschool.edu/lang/) in New York City, is seeking applications from innovative educators to teach an introductory ecology-based course in fall 2024 within the Department of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. The course will serve students majoring in Interdisciplinary Science (https://www.newschool.edu/lang/interdisciplinary-science/) , Environmental Studies (https://www.newschool.edu/lang/environmental-studies/) , Integrated Design, Journalism and Design, and the liberal arts more generally. The course is a four-credit course required of the Interdisciplinary Science major and meets twice a week for one hour and 40 minutes. Access to a teaching lab and supplies is available. The successful candidate will have an advanced degree in ecology or related discipline (PhD preferred), have experience teaching in an interdisciplinary context at the college level, practice student-centered teaching, and embrace critical pedagogy. Candidates with an additional degree related to public health, communication/outreach, or policy are strongly encouraged to apply. There are also opportunities for other teaching opportunities in the spring semester. The hourly rate is $146.
